Aloe vera has been used in various ways for hundreds of years. The transparent gel or pulp from the leaves is used topically treat wounds, skin infections, burns, and numerous other skin conditions. While the plant itself is not generally considered edible, the pulp is sometimes used in drinks. You might want to do a web search on aloe vera to see what properties it has and whether or not you want to try using it as a supplement to your diet.
