| I recently purchased azealas. I was curious what other plants, i.e perennials, annuals, etc that I can plant with them due do the soil having to be acidic. |
| Bunchberry (Cornus canadesis); Common Foxglove (Digitalis pupurea); Creeping Phlox (Phlox stolonifera); False Spiraea (Astilbe species); Forget-Me-Not (Myosotis scorpioides); Globe Thistle (Echinops ritro); Lily-of-the-Valley (Convallaria majalis); Lupine (Lupinus species and hybrids); Marsh Marigold (Caltha palustris); Meadow Rue (Thalictrum rochebruneanum); Meadowsweet (Queen of the Prairie); Monkshood (Aconitum napellus); New Zealand Daisy (Celmisia walkeri); Peony (Paeonia hybrids); Plantain Lily (Hosta); Snow-In-Summer (Cerastium tomentosum); Solomon's Seal (Polyonatum species); Torch Lily (Kniphofia uvaria); and Yellow Foxglove (Digitalis) are all acid loving perennial plants. Annuals have short growing seasons and for the most part do not have a preference for either acidic or alkaline soils. Best wishes with your garden! |
