Answer: If your irises are not blooming, they are either not getting enough sunshine, or they are overcrowded. Typically they will bloom in about 4 hours of sunshine. If they are getting less than that, move them to a sunnier spot. If they are already getting at least 4 hours of sunshine, simply dig and thin them out so each rhizome has lots of room, and then replant in the same bed. You can do this now, in spring, or in late summer after they have finished blooming.
