The Q&A Archives: knockout roses

Question: It is now early spring and I would like to know how short to cut back my knockout roses. Thank you

Answer: It is never too late (or too early) to prune knockout roses! Pruning encourages new growth so trimming everything back a bit in the spring will result in lots of new stems and branches, and more flowers. Now is a perfect time to prune! You can remove up to two thirds of the plant and it won't mind a bit.
