we have zoysia, the neighbors have bermuda - how do i keep their grass from spreading into my grass?

Zoysia grass may be slow, but it is sure. It grows so thickly that over time it gradually out-competes Bermuda grass. Since bermuda grass roots can reach 4' deep, it's unlikely that you can effectively place a physical barrier along the property line. Eventually the Zoysia will win out and your neighbor will be looking for a way to keep your zoysia out of his bermuda. Best wishes with your lawn!
