I have two large fern trees in my back yard. Since I cut back on watering due to shortages in this area, one of the ferns has dried up considerably. What can I do to bring it back? The smaller of the two ferns is doing quite well with less water.

Smaller tree ferns will need less water than larger ones so that probably explains why only the largest one is suffering from drought stress. You may be able to restore its good health by giving it more water. I find that a slow, deep watering is better than frequent but shallow applications of water. You might also mulch around the fern trees to help slow water evaporation. Best wishes with your landscape!
