i was looking up garden information and i came across a informatoin that told me ihad to test the Ph level of my soil and that plants like acidic soil. well my problem is that i already bought all my seeds and soil etc. so how do i get my soil to the point where my vegetables and plants will like and flourish. |
Most vegetables and flowering plants will grow in a wide range of soils. I think your plants will be fine, especially if you add some compost or aged manure or other organic matter to your soil. Unless you know your soil pH is really out of whack I don't think you have anything to worry about. Peat moss will help acidify a soil that is really alkaline so if you suspect yours is, incorporate peat instead of compost or aged manure. The key is to enrich your soil prior to planting so the roots of the plants have an easy time exploring and can take up the available nutrients. |
