I planted some bulbs in my garden and they haven't come up yet. I put some mulch down to prevent weeds and keep in moisture. Is the mulch going to prevent my bulbs from emerging?

Spring bulbs should have come up by now; summer bulbs probably won't begin to show for another month or so. As a rule, 2-3 inches of organic mulch should not stop bulbs from poking their heads out. But, if your bulbs are planted too deeply and then covered with a few inches of mulch, they may run out of energy before they can reach the sunshine. I'd dig down into the bed and check the progress of the bulbs and that should clear up any doubts you might have. Good luck with your garden!
