| Kentucky bluegrass and Turf-type tall fescues will both grow well in your region. Tall fescues are more shade tolerant than bluegrass so you might consider either going with the tall fescue or planting a blend which will contain both turf grasses. To get things off to a good start, spread a few inches of compost over the area and dig it in, then rake the area smooth and broadcast your seeds. Spring is an excellent time to reseed a lawn.
