Please recommend a variety of full-sized tomatoes that are suitable for growing in a container on my sunny deck. I've read something about "Pixie" tomatoes . . . is this what I need to plant?

Most tomato cultivars would grow well in a container. I would choose one described as "determinate"; that means they grow in bush form, rather than as a long vine. Burpee carries a variety called 'Tumbler' especially for hanging baskets and containers; it produces bright red cherry tomatoes. Good varieties for full-size tomatoes include 'Northern Exposure', 'Celebrity' and 'Sweet Tangerine'. Be sure to use a large enough container--one that holds 5 gallons should work well.
