I live in an apartment with a deck. Can I grow Gardenias in pots?

Gardenias adapt well to growing in containers. Choose a pot with several drainage holes on the bottom, fill with potting soil, and plant your gardenia. Keep the soil moist but not soggy wet, and provide bright light (some morning sunshine is okay). Mist the leaves daily to provide the required humidity and your gardenia should bloom beautifully for you.
