Planting a palm /shrub - Knowledgebase Question

Hi,I live in S.Florida and I like information on what's best to plant.I need slow growing,and max.height 8-10ft. My space to plant is 4ft.by 8ft.Are there any dwarf palms?Are there techniques on keeping a palm tree a certain height?

There are some naturally dwarf palms: Allagoptera arenaria (Seashore palm) grows only 6 feet tall; Arenga engleri (Dwarf sugar palm) grows ten feet tall; Chamaedorea cataractarum (Cat palm) grows 6 feet tall; Chamaedorea metallica (Miniature fishtail palm) grows only 3 feet tall. Any of these will grow well in your gardening region. Enjoy!
