The Q&A Archives: Planting Bulbs

Question: I love planting bulb flowers. Should you take the outer covering off them before you plant? Will it help them grow any faster or will it harm them. Thanks, Blu

Answer: Don't remove the protective outer shell before planting. It helps keep the bulb from suffering bruises and it will decompose on its own when the bulb sprouts. Just plant them as they come, without removing the outer skin. Good luck with your bulbs!
