What flowers will help attract butterflies and hummingbirds to my garden? I want something that is fragrant and will take full sunshine. I have several butterfly bushes, but would like flowers that would add color at various times throughout the season.

Butterflies like flowers with lots of nectar. Plant Asters, Chrysanthemum, Coreopsis, Helianthus, Lavender, Sweet Alyssum, Monarda, Phlox, Rudbeckia, Verbena and Zinnias for all season color and fragrance. Hummingbirds prefer the color red, and flowers with a trumpet shape. Fuchsias, Coral Bells, Campsis, Lily and Knipbofia are perfect for attracting hummingbirds. All these plants do well in full sunshine.
