The flowers of peonies can get very heavy, especially if it rains. The best way to keep the plants and flower stems upright is to place stakes next to the plants and tie them to the stakes. There are also metal stakes available in garden centers with hoops at the top. You just train the stems to grow up through the grids in the hoops and the stems will remain upright even when the flowers are saturated and heavy. These metal plant stakes are green in color and the leaves of the peonies will hide the stakes. Best wishes with your peonies!
