I have a white moth orchid in mid bloom. once a week watering and feeding. Got him in Feb. a week later two of his bottom leaves split down the middle. He had 6 big blooms (side note one was defective: it had an extra pedal growing from the center of the flower) since then that flower and one other died and fell off. now he has flies coming out of his roots and soil looks moldy. Should i repot?

I think it's worth some investigation! I suspect the flies you see are fungus gnats. They won't harm the roots of your orchid but they do feed and breed in decaying organic matter. I would repot the orchid in fresh potting mix!
