Hi,
I live in Florida, have St. Augustine Lawn, it was attacked by Chinch
bug last summer, I am considering resod the lawn:
(1) I have mower and weed eater, is there any tool
I can rent or buy (to attach to weed eater?) to take out the dead grass and weeds without cost
too much?
(2) is Chinch Bug active whole year? do they die during winter frost?
Should I treat it now before resoding?TK

About the only thing available to remove sod is a sod cutter, which is available to rent. Your alternative would be a flat shovel, held under the sod and pushed along. Very laborious! If you treated for chinch bugs, they should be gone but you should scout your new lawn for signs of the pests, before the population gets large enough to do damage. Good luck with your lawn!
