The Q&A Archives: Grass growing in clumps

Question: You did not answer my previous question. Why is my grass growing in somewhat raised clumps with bare spots in between the clumps.

Answer: The type of turf you planted is probably a tall fescue. Tall type fescue does not spread, therefore it will clump if not planted thick enough. Plant more seed and that should take care of the clumping.
