| I am in zone 4/5 Can I plant Emerald Green Thuja and viburnum roseum next to each other as a hedge because I was told that Evergreens make the soil very acidic and other plants do not like to grow close by? any help would be appreciated |
| Both plants are rated winter hardy in zone 4 so you should be successful in growing them as hedges. Evergreens which drop lots of needles each year (such as pines) can acidify the soil over a period of years due to the litter they drop but broadleaf evergreens such as thuja and viburnum will have no effect on the acidity or alkalinity of a soil.
