The Q&A Archives: planting

Question: when is it safe to plant root stock flowers, live roses and columbines as well as bareroot roses. i got them in the mail but want to know what date it would be safe to plant them

Answer: Your average last frost date in May 18. Bare root plants can go into the ground about 3-4 weeks prior to your last frost because the plants are dormant and can take cold soil. When the soil warms up the plants will wake up and sprout new growth.
