The Q&A Archives: sprinklers

Question: my timer on my sprinkler system is not working properly and needs to be replaced. Is this an easy fix or do I need a pro?

Answer: Replacing a timer is fairly easy so you might want to give it a try. Here's how:

To replace an old timer you'll want to start by labeling the wires connected to your old timer with a masking tape. (so you will know where to attach them on your new timer.)

Next disconnect the wires, remove the old timer and you're ready to install the new timer.

Once you have positioned and mounted the new timer in place, connect all of the labeled wires into the correct station of the new timer.

Plug the timer into the power supply and your new timer should be operational.
