It's difficult to have a nice green lawn when you have dogs. The only thing to prevent the yellow spots is to hose the area off as soon as possible after your dog urinates. Water will dilute the salts in the urine and it won't burn the grass and kill the roots. You can repair the damaged spots by digging out the dead grass, spreading some compost over the soil and then reseeding.
