my holly shrubs get black edges on leaves. they then turn brown and fall off what can i do?

It sounds like a fungal disease but you might want to take a sample of the affected leaves to your cooperative extension office for positive diagnosis. Once identified, they can suggest control measures. Be sure to rake and dispose of fallen leaves. You might also consider pruning your holly to open it up to better sunlight and air circulation. Several fungicides are available in your garden center - spray at intervals as recommended on the label. Good luck with your holly!
