If I plant Boston ferns outside, will they come back or will they just die when it gets cold, I live in Alabama.

Boston ferns will not tolerate freezing temperatures. If your garden remains frost free all winter long you can plant them outdoors. If your garden regularly gets frosty weather, plant them in containers to enjoy outdoors but plan to take the plants indoors during the winter months.
