When should I apply Scotts fertilizer with Halts for crabgrass? What should the temperature be? I live in southwestern WI

Now is a good time, if the temperature is about 55 degrees. You want the product on the lawn before the weather warms up enough for the crabgrass to begin growing. Apply it when temperatures are 55F (or when the forsythia blooms) and you'll be one step ahead of that nasty crabgrass.
