All citrus trees have spikes or thorns on their branches. Some of the newer hybrids have smaller thorns but older varieties can have longer spikes on their branches. These typically are not as noticable on older growth and are more prominent on new growth. I can't identify your tree based on the fact that it has spikes or thorns. I'm afraid you will just have to wait and see what kind of fruit it develops. Sorry!
