The Q&A Archives: Growing Roses from Seed

Question: What is a good procedure for growing rose bushes from seed? Bob Partington Toronto, ON

Answer: Only species of roses rather that hybrids may be propagated from seed. Seeds must be stratified (placed in slightly moist vermiculite in an airtight container and put in the fridge) for approximately 120 days, then sowed and kept around 65-70 degrees.
