Hi,
My seedlings for the garden which I am starting in the cellar on warming mats are very very leggy and white - what am I doing wrong?
Thank you.

Your seedlings are not getting enough light. Once the seeds sprout they need a source of light to keep them stout and hardy. I use regular shop lights with 40W bulbs and place them 2" above the tops of the seedlings, moving the lights up as the seedlings grow. The lights should be kept on 14-16 hours a day. I don't know whether your plants will recover once you give them adequate light or whether they are too far gone and you'll need to start all over again. Let's hope for the best!
