I'm starting a garden in my apt's backyard. I get 3 hours of direct sunlight. What flowers/herbs can I grow?

Plants that flower and produce fruits need the most sun. The more shade tolerant veggies include beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, kale, leaf lettuce, mustard, bunching onions, peas, spinach, Swiss Chard, and turnips. Most herbs will grow with only 3 hours of sunlight because they do not flower and produce fruit. You will have to do a little trial and error to see which plants grow best in your backyard. Good luck with your garden!
