There are several fast growing evergreens that will make good privacy hedges for your landscape:
Thuja Green Giant is the fastest growing evergreen (3-5 feet per year once established). It will grow into a thick, compact privacy screen and it's easy to grow.

Nellie Stevens Holly stays deep green all year, and grows up to 3 feet a year. You control how they grow ? whether naturally into a dense, pyramidal shape that matures at 15-25 ft., or pruned into a tall box hedge.

Or Leyland Cypresses. They are very fast growers.

If the Christmas trees you planted had roots, and if you kept them well watered during the winter months, there's a chance they might make it. Hope so!
