The Q&A Archives: Sweet Potato Vines

Question: I have seen several of the new sweet potato vines. Most are showing them in baskets and in the garden. I would like to know if they can be grown indoors in a south window?

Answer: You could try it, I don't know how successful you would be, but, you could surely try it. Sweet potatoes grow well in warm soil so I'm not sure that even a south facing window would be warm enough. Also, these vines get really, really may be tough to control indoors. Unless you have a really big spot to fill, I'd probably go with something more "tame".
