I was curious what kind of soil/sand I should use for succulents placed in a fish tank. Also what succulents will grow well together?

You can use a cactus mix for your succulents. This will drain quickly and keep the roots from becoming waterlogged. All succulents have similar needs for light and moisture so all should grow happily together. Enjoy your indoor garden!
