Mulch and termites - Knowledgebase Question

I was told that if you use mulch against the foundation of your house, you are inviting termites. Is this true? I would rather use mulch than rock on top of my weedblock.

Termites seem not to like cedar mulch so if you have a choice, use cedar. Just to make sure, rake the mulch away from the foundation every few weeks to check for insect colonies. Mulch against concrete foundations isn't as worrysome, but I'd still recommend raking it back every few weeks to check for insect populations.
