I would like to transplant my 3 ft camellia. When is the best time? |
Either spring or fall are good seasons to move plants because the weather is cool and natural rainfall will help them settle into their new homes. Prepare the new planting hole first so the roots of your camellia will be exposed to sunlight and air for the shortest amount of time possible. Dig generously around the established plant so you damage as few roots as possible. If you move your camellia in the early spring you may sacrifice some of the blooms due to the stress of the move, but the plant should recover over the summer and produce new blossoms next year. |
