We have two dogs that are preventing grass to grown along our back sidewalk and deck area.I am interested (need) in using rocks instead of mulch for our landscaping beds. We will plant a few cheap shrubs in it but are more concerned with improving the look of the area, and putting something down that will hold up with the dog traffic. Any suggestions (besides getting rid of the dogs!) |
I wish there were a dog friendly turfgrass or ground cover, but most will become shoddy under all the foot traffic and urine so I think hardscaping is a good idea in your landscape. If you put down gravel or rock, or even flagstone, you can place large containers of flowering plants and shrubs on the hardscape so the plants will be out of harm's way and you can still have some color in your yard. Enjoy your dogs and your yard! |
