We are relandscaping our front yard and are looking for a flowering tree - around 8-10' tall. Also want to put some barberries in - what type do you suggest? We have a small area. Also are there some other types of bushes that HD has that go well w/ Barberries?

Purple leaf plum, ornamental pear or crape myrtle will remain small and still provide color in the spring. Dwarf barberries will look nice with any of these trees. To offset the purple foliage of the shrubs, consider growing yellow flowering coreopsis or white shasta daisies. Most of all, have fun choosing just the right plants for your landscape!
