The Q&A Archives: Hanging baskets

Question: What can I put in a hanging basket in a courtyard that gets plenty of hot Florida sun and humidity? I wanted to try a Boston fern but fear too much sun.

Answer: Lantana, petunia and portulaca, dwarf black eyed Susan vine, creeping thyme, basil and verbena are all good choices for a sunny hanging planter. Boston ferns won't take the sunshine, though, so don't use them. Enjoy your hanging baskets!
