| I bought the 5-graft tree to insure at lest one crop of fruit. I have only seen the one kind for the last 4 years. When and how do I prune without messing up any future possible varried crops? |
| If you have 5 varieties of fruit on your tree it means that one branch for each varieity was grafted onto the trunk of the tree. You will want to preserve the integrity of each separate branch, but you will also want your tree to have some symmetry. So, shorten any overly long branches but don't completely remove any of the branches. You can thin out each branch by removing growth and if you mentally consider each branch as a separate tree, you won't go too far wrong. |
