Grub controls are more effective when applied when the grubs are close to the soil surface in late summer. You can apply grub control in late July in your gardening region. Or, if you use something like Bayer Advanced Season-Long Grub Control Granules, you can apply them in late spring or early summer and the product will be there when the grubs move up through the soil towards the surface.
