I have some 'weeds' that come back every year in the Spring and they have a bulb at top of plant. Is this wild garlic (smells like) and is it edible? |
Wild garlic and wild onion look similar to regular garlic and regular onions. They are edible in small quantities, but some species can cause stomach upset. A word of caution: there is a plant in the lily family called Black Snakeroot that has onion-like bulbs. This plant is poisonous. Be sure you have identified the plant as a true garlic or onion (Allium) before you eat it. |
