Blueberries should be fertilized just as the flower buds begin to open (usually March) with a 10-10-10. Apply one ounce for each year the blueberry plant has been in the garden (to a maximum of 8 ounces). Don't overfertilize or you'll end up with lots of foliage at the expense of fruits. You can mulch around the plants with pine needles, pine bark mulch or peat moss to help acidify the soil.
