Spring is an excellent time to dig and transplant trees and shrubs so you probably have nothing to worry about as far as timing is concerned. You should expect the shrubs to go through a little transplant shock and look pathetic for a few weeks, but once the root systems become established in their new homes, they should perk up. All you need to do is water deeply once each week and be patient. I'm sure your shrubs will be just fine. Enjoy your garden!
