The Q&A Archives: raised bed

Question: how to make a raised flower bed, should you put a weed barrier down first then the dirt
thank you

Answer: Raised beds are easy to construct. You can use lumber, concrete blocks, or even plastic timers. It isn't necessary to put weed barrier down, nor is it necessary to use wood - you can simply mound up the soil, tapering it at the edges. If you're purchasing soil to fill the beds, order a 3-way mix. It will have compost, sand and garden soil which is a perfect growing media for raised beds. Make the garden a minimum of 18 inches deep and as long and wide as you would like. Best wishes with your project!
