I planted a fig tree last year, it gave me some small figs, but this spring I did not see any new leaves coming out so I cut a branch and it was dry, all the way to the center white part, I kept cutting down to about 2 ft and it is dry, does that mean that is dead or do they come back later?? |
Fig trees go dormant in the winter months but should produce healthy new growth when the weather warms. You may have expected new growth too soon - wait a few more weeks. If the roots are still healthy your fig tree will develop new growth. Let's just wait and see - don't prune any more. Just be patient with your plant. |
