Why is my corn dying? - Knowledgebase Question

I planted corn about 3.5 weeks ago. It all came up so fast, and grew to be a few inches tall. However, 2/3 of my plants have fallen over, shriveled up, and died in the last week or so! I have no idea why. I started the plants inside in 4

How disappointing! Corn doesn't transplant well so we don't recommend you try starting the seeds indoors. The major reason for this is because the roots of the plants grow fast and they want to grow deep. If they can't they will just give up. If you must pre-sprout your corn seeds, do so in very deep containers (such as one quart milk cartons) so the roots can grow freely. Sorry you lost your crop!
