Iam planning to rototill an area that has a few tree roots. Will this kill the tree?

A tree won't mind losing a few small roots, but damaging or severing larger roots can cause problems. Just go easy with the tiller and if you find large roots, try to go around them rather than chew them up with the blades of the tiller. Best wishes with your project!
