| I have these nasty fat white worms in my yard and they are eating everything I plant. How can I get rid of them. I dig up something and there are 5 or six that I have to squish...nasty! |
| The white worms are grubs and they are the larvae of June Beetles, Japanese Beetles or chafers. Some years are worse than others in terms of grub populations so it sounds as though your landscape had perfect conditions for these pests this year. The best natural control for grubs is Milky Spore. This is an organic product which kills only the grubs, while sparing earthworms. Another benefit to milky spore is that it lasts for up to 15 years without needing to be reapplied. The only downside is that it can be costly. But given the fact you only need to apply it once every 15-20 years, it is the least expensive alternative over the long term. Or you can apply GrubX to kill the larvae. Be sure to apply according to label directions. |
