I had a beautiful corn plant, but now all the leaves are brown an bittle.
Should I cut the stalk to promote new growth?

Yes, you can cut the plant down and it will generate new stems. Your corn plant will naturally lose its lower leaves and as long as it is producing new leaves at the tip of the stem, the plant is okay. If you are not getting new growth, cut the stem down and the plant should develop one or two new stems. Good luck with your corn plant.
