If I use a slow-release fertilizer when planting annuals, will they get too much fertilizer if I also apply a liquid fertilizer during the summer? |
Slow release fertilizers are designed to last about 3 months and will continually feed the roots of your plants during that time. A foliar feeding won't hurt your plants if you typically feed every few weeks during the summer season. If you have not already applied the slow release fertilizer, why not hold off on using it in your annual bed and use it elsewhere. Using both products won't hurt your annuals but it's a little wasteful if you can use the product elsewhere in your garden. |
