| I use to live in Houston, Tx and the blade of the St. Augustine grass is wider and the color is greener than the St. Augustine in my yard in Mobile, Al. Is there a difference? Also, my now my lawn in Houston is pretty and green but the lawn here is still brown. Not just mine but most of the neighbors on the street. Is there something that can be done. I have used Scott's on the lawn already. |
| There are a number of St. Augustine hybrids and some grow better in some parts of the country than in others. I think the different types of grasses are simply regional hybrids. The wider blade is an older variety of St. Augustine - one that grows best in Houston. St. Augustine greens up according to air and soil temperatures. There's nothing you can do to make them green up faster in the spring. Once they come out of dormancy they will green up. Now that you have fed your lawn, all you need to do is wait for it to wake up. Enjoy your garden! |
